Elephant Island was a contender for loudest, biggest band at the Johnny Cash tribute night. That’s novel. I didn’t end up going, but Galen reports it was a fun time. They borrowed a crack country guitar player for the evening, our pal Marc Jenkins. They’re going to borrow him again for his record-recording skills in April, so I figured I should introduce him as soon as possible. The Jenker: get used to him!
A good friend and admirably creative person, who happens to be Galen’s sister, has a new website that I’ve been visiting every morning. Zoe posts some kind of finished project every day— even on the weekend, which is a total wasteland on the rest of the internet. So far she’s making comics, crafts, cake, clothes, photos and postcards, and always with useful, funny little tips. You can get in on the fun at Lemony Lemonade.
Finally, I’m overdue in publicly celebrating the customer service at Legends Comics. Seriously. I am not a hardcore comics fan and I don’t go in there that often, but today co-owner Gareth lent me a comic. Loaned it to me! I go in there just for a refreshing visit sometimes, and I always end up buying something. Even if you don’t care about comics, drop in just to check out the winning small business attitude.
