The Island Music Awards is putting out its annual call to Vancouver Island musicians of all genres and ages. I think I forgot about these last year, so it is good to have lots of notice: the deadline for entry is December 29, 2006.
The lists of past winners are a bit patchy and show a distinct lack of young indie music. That’s easy enough to fix, right? Submission info.
The gala event, which is the culminating ceremony of Island Music Week and has been held in Victoria for the first five years of the show, will move up island to Nanaimo for its sixth installment on Saturday, April 21, 2007. The venue and hosts for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
