I’m delighted to be presenting a talk at a day-long conference on healthy sexuality, hosted by the fine folks of UVic’s Anti-Violence Project.

The conference, Exploring Healthy Sexualities, is part of AVP’s work against sexualized violence and violence against women. I love this approach—offering healthy ideas about sexuality, instead of just focussing on the problems.
I’ll be talking about sex education—offering lots of info about bodies and sexuality, as well as questioning the concept of sexperts and an “official” healthy sexuality. I love the work of a lot of sex experts (I just posted about Betty Dodson, Ph.D), but I think it’s important to keep a critical perspective on any kind of professionalization.
